Indeed, the best of 09 lists seemed to have a great time excluding one of my favorite records of the year.
Bobby Birdman's New Moods was an exquisite affair. Featuring a sort of eccentric flair for open snare percussion, clever electronic percussion, lightly absurdist lyrics, and unabashed creativity, this album is not only highly enjoyable but supremely artistic.
Give it a spin on lala.com along with another '09 favorite from fellow LAers Fool's Gold's self-titled debut.
